EASY WRITING Techniques
for
Mental
Health
Self-Care
Wednesdays, Sept. 28 & Oct. 5

$50 for 4 sessions

With easy-to-follow writing prompts and exercises offered, this four-session workshop is dedicated to exploring how writing can help clarify our thoughts and feelings, stregthen our communication skills, and propel personal growth.  No writing experience is necessary - just bring something to write with or on, and your curiosity!  (Note: participants may be invited, but never required, to share their writing with others in the group.)

INSTRUCTOR:  Stefanie Glick is the creator of the LiveWell Program®, and has offered skill-based psychoeducation and peer support to thousands of people around the world.  She is also a playwright and professional writing coach.

TELL YOUR STORY
in Pictures

We all have a (mental health or other) meaningful story to tell. This introductory two-part class offers easy, practical, and wide-ranging techniques for translating personal life experience into compelling visual narrative stories.

NO DRAWING SKILL IS NECESSARY.  REALLY, WE MEAN IT!  All that you need to bring to this class is curiosity, enthusiasm, and a desire to find out what happens at the intersection of words and images. By the end of this two-part workshop, each participant will have completed their own visual narrative.

INSTRUCTOR:  Emily Steinberg is a multi-disciplinary artist. Since 2013, her visual narratives have been regularly published in Cleaver Magazine, where she also is the visual narrative editor. Her cartoon and Daily Shouts story were recently published by The New Yorker.  Emily is a lecturer in Fine Arts at Penn State, and teaches visual narrative to medical students at Drexel College.

Cultivating a GROWTH MINDSET
for Mental Fitness & Resilience

Did you know the concept of a Growth Mindset  is proven to reduce negative thinking and self-crictism and to increase feelings of resilience, wellbeing, and self-confidence in almost every area of our lives?  This two-part interactive workshop will provide you an unique opportunity to:

  • Understand the principles and benefits of the Growth Mindset concept

  • Learn practical tools and techniques for maximizing ‘mindset’ to positively impact your mental fitness and resilience

  • Develop a small Growth Mindset experiment on any topic relevant to your life or mental health to try between the two sessions (and receive active peer support)

  • Identify how both the activity and workshop can be applied to overcoming challenges or increasing wellbeing throughout your future lifespan

INSTRUCTOR:  Eric Feuerlicht leads leadership development and coaching for a global management consulting organization. As a professional certified coach and positive psychology practitioner, he works individually and with groups on topics related to resilience, mindset, and leadership effectiveness.

Both science and human experience provide ample evidence: Yoga can be a tremendous help in managing depression. The response to October’s Yoga Mood Boost workshop was overwhelming, and it proved there's a real need for this work right now, so we continue! In this hands-on experiential clinic we’ll dive further into the ways in which yoga supports mental, emotional, physical and behavioral health. 

All levels welcome. No yoga experience needed. Attendance at Yoga Mood Boost part 1 is not a pre-requisite. Available live or via recording. Pay-what-you-can, $10-50. Your donation of $25 or more is greatly appreciated. Net proceeds benefit the LiveWell Foundation.

INSTRUCTOR:  Jurian Hughes E-RYT 500, YACEP, MFA, is a senior faculty member at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA, where she has trained more than 1,000 yoga teachers. She is the founder of Yoga of Voice, Fifth Chakra Yoga, and Yoga of Yes, as well as a Let Your Yoga Dance® teacher trainer, voice coach, personal mentor, writer, and speaker known for her passionate, playful and engaging teaching style. Hughes leads classes and programs online, in-person and around the world.
