An alarming 50% of physicians currently report feeling burnout and/or symptoms of clinical depression.
Untreated depression is the leading cause of suicide; and physicians have the highest rate of suicide of any profession.
Female phsyicians are 2.3 times more likely to die by suicide compared to the general population; and male physicians are 1.4 times more likely.
