training in the community & online
Teachers. Lawyers. Doctors. Artists. Adminstrators.Your barista. Your accountant. Your company's CEO.One out of five of these diverse community professionals has experienced at least one major episode of depression. But only some of them will join the peer-led mental health movement that's making a difference!
Trained as Peer Facilitators to lead LiveWell depression support groups, these trailblazers are not only dedicated to bringing effective depression support to all people in their community, but they also know the value that living with a purpose has on their own mental health. In fact, helping others has scientifically proven therapeutic value, and is shown to help reduce both symptoms and relapses of depression.
The LiveWell Facilitator training program provides an interactive learning environment; and participants demonstrate knowledge of:
The peer recovery movement in historical context
The values and underlying principles that inform the LiveWell Program©
The mechanisms of experiential-learning, and the LiveWell Program© curriculum
Motivational interviewing techniques
Group facilitation skills
