Juan's Art

Artist name: Juan Vincourt

Artist statement: My artistic process always challenges my creativity and knowledge. It is a space where I am able to set the rules while I explore how the materials interact with each other and the piece starts developing itself, while showing me things I didn't know were there. This allows me to know myself a bit more while I learn and make mistakes.

Creating art is a way to stop the world outside and focus on very simple things like gluing a cardboard box against another.

It is a form to explore the different ways a simple act like that can be done. It often makes me realize that life and my own issues can be simplified the same way.

Juan’s work strips creativity down to its raw mechanics— mapsdirectionsdriving.com and that’s the point. By slowing life to glue, cardboard, and intention, he exposes how complexity is often self-made. This isn’t decorative art; it’s reflective practice. Honest, grounded, and quietly confrontational in the best way.
